Hurd Fire: The fire perimeter is located to the southeast of the Mill Creek-Council Mountain Landscape Restoration Project. The fire incident report describes the fuels as subalpine fir, lodgepole pine and douglas fir. The fire behavior moves from small clump of trees to another small clump by spotting, particularly in the subalpine fir, leaving pockets of unburned trees in between.
On the map, the large green polygon to the northwest of the fire perimeter is Phase II of the landscape project.
