Welcome Linda Jackson
 

We are excited to welcome Linda Jackson to our team as the new Forest Supervisor for the Payette National Forest.  Linda is coming to us from  the Ottawa National Forest in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where she has served as the Forest Supervisor since August 2014.  Prior to working on the Ottawa NF, she was a District Ranger on the Prescott National Forest for 11.5 years, and recently served as the Acting Forest Supervisor on the Allegheny NF in Pennsylvania.  She has worked for national forests in Oregon, Utah, and Nevada.  Linda has a bachelorÂ’s degree in geology, and prior to joining the Forest Service she worked in the coal mining industry in Oregon and Wyoming.

 

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon,  Linda and her husband Mike Leonard have five children and three grandsons.  Linda has a son in Kamiah, ID, and a daughter in northern CA; and her husband, a former Forest Service employee, has daughters in Spokane, WA, and Portland, OR, and a son in Flagstaff, AZ.  Both of their sons also work for the Forest Service.

 

Linda wrote, “I am excited to be coming to the Payette National Forest and for being given the opportunity to serve as your Forest Supervisor.  I look forward to getting to know and working with the employees, the Regional Leadership Team, the communities, and partners”  Linda will begin her assignment on January 19, 2020.
