WORKSHOP INVITATION - Post-fire Tree Regeneration and Fuels in the Northern Rockies: Meta-Analyses, Management Scenarios, and a Decision Tree

Hello PFC members,

Your group members have been identified people who should attend the upcoming workshop: Post-fire tree regeneration and fuels: Working together towards a planting decision tree. Below are additional details about the workshop, and a Doodle poll where you can officially RSVP. Please forward this information on to others you feel might be interested in participating.

Workshop details:

This workshop is aimed to increase understanding of natural tree regeneration patterns following wildfires, and to identify areas where planting may be warranted. Within these potential planting locations, we will focus on improving decision support tools to identify where seedlings will have the greatest chance of success. We also discuss locations where planting is unnecessary due to either 1) abundant natural regeneration or 2) unconducive climate, especially in the coming decades.

Multiple elements were considered that may influence seedling success such as fuel loading, aspect, slope, forest type/habitat type, and climate. We need your help in developing an effective decision tree to promote adaptive management strategies in these post-fire environments!
