Lost Valley Reservoir Dispersed Recreation Improvements Field Trip - June 2nd Agenda

Plan to meet at the Pine Ridge Parking Lot at 9:00 am. The total time for the field visit should take no more than 2 hours. Please bring appropriate clothes, including rain gear. While we expect to be done at 11:00 am, please bring water and snacks.  There are five planned stops, with the first stop taking place at the north end of the reservoir. We will work our way south along the FS089 road back to the Pine Ridge Parking Lot.

 

The purpose of out field trip is to share with you recreation improvements that will be implemented in and around Lost Valley Reservoir this summer. Funds for these improvements were acquired through a grant proposal to the Idaho Department of Recreation (IDPR).

 

Stop/Site 1: Junction of FS 089 and FS 127 Roads

  • Overview of the IDPR funded project.

    • Discussion on what the funding will allow for and what is not.

    • Where improvements will be placed, based on the recreation specialist report.

    • Discussion on when the improvements will take place, who will complete the work, timeline for completion.

    • Partnering Participants: Eagle Scouts, Northwest Youth Corps, Youth Conservation Corps, contractors, force account personnel.

  • Review placement of one of the three planned kiosks that will be located at this junction.

  • Review where metal fire rings and campsite markers will be placed.

 

Stop/Site 2: 381 Road

  • Overview of the location of the CXT

  • Discussion on road improvements that will be completed

  • Overview of travel management signage, travel management issues.

  • Overview of dispersed sites/fire ring placement.

     

Stop/Site 3: Dispersed Site, West Side of FS089 Road, and South of the 381 Road

  • Brief overview on the dispersed site improvements and travel management signage.

  • Discussion on locations for other fire rings, dispersed site improvements.

 

Stop/Site 4:  Dam Site

  • Overview of kiosk placement

  • CXT placement discussion

  • Dispersed site placement/fire ring

     

    Stop/Site 5: Dispersed Site, South of the dam

  • Discussion on sanitation issues for this site.

  • Placement of CXT.

  • Discussion on planned watershed/road obliteration activities.

  • Additional questions/Discussion.
