Region 4 of the US Forest Service, which includes the Boise National Forest, is conducting a Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation Strategy assessment. The intent is to develop a report that identifies potential risks and changes to resources we manage due to climate change which can be used to inform land management decisions in the future. While this report will include natural resources, we are including assessment of anthropogenic resources as well, such as cultural, recreational, and infrastructural resources. You can learn more about the project here.

The assessment team leading this project will be holding a two-day workshop in Boise, ID on May 11thand 12th, 2016. A sample agenda is available here. We are inviting partners who would like to learn about the project as well as partners who would like to join us and provide input to the report. There is no cost to attend this workshop. While we do not have the capacity to open this invitation up to the general public, we would like to include an audience that represents many specialties and resource concerns. If you are interested in attending, you can find registration and location information here (toward the bottom of the page).
