At the January meeting, PFC members identified a Forum issue - notification to members by email was not
working. This liimits the utility of the Forum for those who want to continue discussions between meetings.
What is the Fix?
The current software vendor has a different strategy for adminstering notification. In brief:
When you author a post, the Forum notifies you, by default, when comments are posted.
For posts other members author, the Forum sends a notice to you that there is a new topic on the
Forum. Then youdecide if you wish to follow the post - to follow a post means that a notice will be sent to you when there are comments.
Example: the screenshot below is an example using the current Granite Goose EA Letter.
When viewing the post, click the three dots in the upper right corner
Click Follow Post in the pop-up menu
This software approach is a design decision of the vendor It is a way to limit email traffic to Forum members and allows you to choose which topics are important for you. My apologies for not tracking this down earlier. The previous sofware defaulted to notification, and I thought the issue was email delivery.
Please begin using the option with current posts. I will continue to also email a daily message as needed for the draft EA letter to ensure members are notified about new comments.
