In 2012, IFRP initiated tracking the status of forest restoration projects supported by local collaborative groups. A website vicinity map of projects, currently 80 and increasing, is a component of the tracking.
The IFRP website map has been revised, and is now incorporated into a Dashboard summary of key restoration metrics. The metric source is the NEPA documentation of proposed restoration actions for each project. The viewer has the option to select a collaborative group, display the vicinity map centered on the projects, and review the NEPA status of the projects on the list.
Throughout the year, new projects are added to the list and projects progress through the environmental review. IFRP records those transactions and the Dashboard will reflect the changes.
The Forest Service efficiently announces new projects by email. But if we have missed a project announcement, be sure to let us know.
