IFRP News - Restoration Accomplishments FY2016

Forest Restoration Progress

The Idaho Collaborative Groups  contributed to the scale and pace of forest restoration during fiscal year 2016.  The total number of projects on the map has increased to 23, and 20 of the projects have a published decision.  Highlights for the fiscal year include:

Boise Forest Coalition
  • Decision published for High Valley Integrated Resource Restoration Project
  • NEPA underway for Bogus Basin Project
KVRI
  • Project assessment in progress to design a proposed action for the  Boulder Creek area.
Lemhi County Forest Restoration Group
  • ​​​​​​​Decision published for the Phelan Sharky project.
  • Also of note in October (FY2017), the forest awarded the Stateline Stewardship Contract to initiate implementation of the Upper North Fork Restoration Project.  The NOI was published in August 2011!
Payette Forest Coalition
  • The Payette National Forest, Adams County and the Payette Forest Coalition successfully defended the court challenge to the Lost Creek-Boulder Creek Decision.
  • The PNF awarded two stewardship contracts to begin implementation within the 80,000 acre project area.
  • Project number four in the CFLRP landscape, entitled Huckleberry, is in the NEPA scoping phase.
5B Restoration Coalition
  • Work is in progress to restore post fire conditions in the Deer Creek watershed (Beaver Creek fire was the catalyst for the formation of the group).
  • The decision was published for the Deer Creek Road Restoration Project.
