Update on Farm Bill Authorities

The message below from Craig Glazier is an update on IDL's Federal Land Management Strategy discussed at the IFRP Conference in February.

Good Morning,

As you are all aware, much has happened since we last met on January 22nd in Coeur d’Alene.  IDL feels it is time to bring our original group of interested parties back together and share what has transpired since February and discuss where we go from here in regard to increased federal land management in Idaho.   In January, we were considering the formation of a non-profit to lead this effort.  Due to recent events, we would like to bring folks back together to review and discuss the following:

  • Our direction at the time of the IFRP meeting
  • What happened during Idaho’s 2015 legislative session
  • Bills that came out of the session, with focus on Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 126
  • Status of Idaho non-profit formation
  • HFRA CE Project status
  • Stewardship Contracting
  • Good Neighbor Authority

We will meet in Coeur d’Alene at the IDL staff office on June 18 at 0900.  Notes from our January meeting and other pertinent information are posted in the Document Library.  A formal agenda will follow.  Thank you.
