Trout Unlimited Joins IFRP
The Partners welcome Trout Unlimited to IFRP.  Watershed health and the quality of fisheries habitat are  important components of Idaho's forest restoration efforts.  The Idaho Council of Trout Unlimited's mission is to conserve, protect, and restore Idaho's coldwater fisheries and watersheds.

Pam Harrington, Watershed Restoration Coordinator, will represent the organization.  At the March  IFRP meeting, Pam commented that "Trout Unlimited has worked in a collaborative fashion as long as I have worked for them, one of the reasons I signed on. We are very pleased to be part of Idaho's forest restoration efforts!"

Please join us in welcoming Pam and Trout Unlimited.
Socio-Economic Monitoring Update
The Lemhi County Forest Restoration Group announces the 2012 update to the Hughes Creek Social and Economic Indicators.  The authors report that restoration activities in Hughes Creek have contributed over $410,000 in private sector earnings for Lemhi County.  The regional impact, extending the scope beyond Lemhi County's boundary, exceeds $1 million in income distributed to 250 private sector workers.

The Collaborative Group applied a creative approach to social indicators.  With a goal of gaining community support for restoration, the social indicators include the number of volunteers recruited, the volunteer hours of work performed, and attendance by the public at outreach events.

The 2012 Update is available in the IFRP State of the Forest Archive.
